How do I join the group?
The Delilahs hold auditions once a year, usually in the fall. There will be banners and fliers with the audition dates during the first week or so of the semester, and we will have a booth at the Activities Fair.
How many spots are you looking to fill?
We lose senior members every year so it would be nice to fill some of those spots, but we don't have a set number or limit of people we take. We're looking for any and all voice parts.
What does an audition consist of?
Auditions are pretty casual. You sing any song you want a cappella for us, we test your range a little bit and do some pitch matching. Nothing too scary!
Does it matter what song I sing?
Not at all. Sing a song that shows off your voice and that you can have fun with, but don't worry about what type of song it is.
Do I have to be a music major?
Though we all love music, we come from a wide variety of majors and musical backsgrounds. The only prerequisite is that you like to sing and have a good time!
What are my chances?
It all depends on who tries out, although we usually take a few new people each year.
I'm a freshman. Do I have any chance at all?
Absolutely. In fact, the majority of current group members got in as freshmen. If you are interested in the group we strongly suggest trying out freshman year.
Who can I talk to for more information?
Feel free to talk to any group member, online or on campus...we'll give you tons of reasons why you should be a Delilah!
